Aaron Peterson a first year student at Red Rock Community College is a competent manager, photographer, and leader. Starting as a football manager in his freshman year he has held many leadership and managerial positions in his school and community. Sophomore year is when he became the head manager of the Douglas County Football Team and Lacrosse Team. His responsibilities included organizing gear in storage, handing out gear, handling paper work, filling out record books, organizing field gear, and many miscellaneous duties to help the flow of games and daily practices. Starting the spring of his sophomore year he began studies in theater management as a assistant stage manager for the Castle Rock Player’s production of “Bye Bye Birdie.” There he was in charge of props management, roll calls, and communication between the back stage and booth. He continued to manage the football team until his junior year and helped with several high school and community theater productions with job titles like, Lighting and Sound Designer, Props Manager, Technical Director, and Stage Manager.
Aaron has been involved with photography and other types of media since a very early age. Using his father’s film cameras he would take pictures around his grandfather’s ranch and on family vacations. His skills in lighting were aided with his work as a lighting designer in such shows as The Wizard of Oz, and Steel Magnolias. Also his first video position was lighting technition for student project, The Bleeding. This spurred many video jobs that helped his creative eye and understanding of light and composition. Aaron got his first digital SLR the summer of 2006 where he began to learn the actual craft of digital photography. This lead to a collection of around four thousand photos.
Currently he is enrolled in the Professional Digital Photography program at Red Rocks Community College. He has learned many things about the business and creative sides this profession. Including photoshop, file and business management, 2D design, and basic digital photography.
